How to Punch and Bend Automobile Stamping Parts?

Generally speaking, the working rhythm of stamping machine determines the production rhythm of stamping production line. The working time of the feeding and unloading mechanism and the workpiece conveying mechanism of the stamping production line should coincide with the stamping time of the stamping machine tool. In order to reduce or eliminate the assistant time of punching machine and die as much as possible, the loading and unloading device of sheet metal and the transport mechanism of workpiece must be able to complete the tasks of loading and unloading and conveying of workpiece as soon as possible so as to reduce the downtime of punching production line.

Accurate positioning of sheet metal: In the stamping process of sheet metal parts, the reliability of stamping process is an important issue to be paid attention to. Reliability refers, on the one hand, to the failure-free feeding and unloading of sheet metal, on the other hand, to the feasibility of process technology. In order to achieve this, we must consider the performance of all equipment parts and production parts in the whole stamping production line. Because stamping machines and dies usually do not become the focus of the problem, dynamic and reliable parts positioning is of great significance.

As the name implies, automotive stamping parts are metal stamping parts that constitute automotive parts. In automotive stamping parts, one part becomes automotive parts directly after stamping, and the other part can only become automotive parts after stamping through welding, mechanical processing, or painting process. There are many kinds of automobile stamping parts, such as spring tray, spring seat, spring bracket, end cover, cap, compression valve cover, compression valve cover, oil seal seat, bottom cover, dust cover, impeller, oil cylinder, supporting ear, bracket and so on, all belong to automobile stamping parts.

Cold stamping of stamping parts, from a professional point of view, refers to the use of press die to exert a certain pressure on the material, so that it can be separated or plastic deformation, so as to obtain the desired finished products. The punching and bending processes, generally speaking, are first punching and then bending, in order to carry out CNC punching process. However, in some special cases, it is necessary to bend before punching.

Austenitizing: It consists of two stages: heating and holding. The purpose of processing is to heat the material to a suitable temperature so that it has good plasticity. The key point is that the speed is fast, if the speed is too slow, it will affect the quality of stamping products.

Stamping, quenching and follow-up treatment: Stamping material, at a certain temperature, in order to avoid affecting the formability of the material. When the material is formed, the die should be closed and pressed for a certain period of time in order to make the material have good performance, and at the same time, quenching treatment should be carried out. In the follow-up treatment, mainly some surface treatment, or drilling and other small processing.

What we call stamping is generally classified according to process, which can be roughly divided into two categories: separation process and forming process. The so-called separation process is also called blanking, the purpose is to make stamping parts along a certain profile from the sheet metal, of course, we also have quality requirements for the separation section. The sheet material used in stamping directly affects the quality of stamping products. When choosing stamping materials, we must have thickness, uniformity, smooth surface of automobile parts without scratches and cracks, etc. There are certain requirements for elongation coefficient, yield ratio and work hardening.

Normally, we don't have any cutting procedures for cold stamping parts, or only a small amount of cutting repair. The precision and surface condition of hot stamping parts are not as good as those of cold stamping parts, but they are still better than those of castings and forgings. Because stamping parts are thinner and stronger than castings and forgings, stamping parts can produce workpieces that can not be manufactured by other complex processes (workpieces with ribs or flanges). The precision of stamping parts is very high, even up to micron level. Moreover, by using compound dies, especially multi-position progressive dies, we can complete multi-pass stamping process on a press, realize automatic production, greatly improve production efficiency and reduce production costs.
